Director, Funeral Director & Celebrant
In her role as a Celebrant Nicky has been working with Wells Funeral Services since 2016.
As the business grew over the years, Nicky took on a wider role beyond celebrancy, becoming involved in all aspects of the service — including providing support as a female undertaker in what is still a largely male-dominated profession.
She is now fully involved in all aspects of the business, from visiting families to discuss funeral requirements, collecting the person who has died from their home, care home, hospital or hospice, care for the deceased when they come into our care, then delivering the funeral ceremony or celebration of life on the day.
Blake is relatively new to the business, having moved to Somerset from Scotland where he was living with family and working in farming.
At 21, Blake is the youngest member of the team. He works on a part-time basis and is learning all aspects of the funeral profession — from the collection of the deceased and bringing them into our care, to pallbearing duties and meeting clients while representing Wells Funeral Services at Wells Market each Wednesday.
With a background in the care industry, Tiffany now works as part of the reception team at a local doctor’s surgery and also plays an important role within Wells Funeral Services.
She has always had a natural affinity for those she cares for, building meaningful relationships with individuals and their families during her years in care.
With a kind and compassionate nature, Tiffany looks after those brought into our care, performing last offices and dressing them with dignity. She carries out this deeply personal role with dedication, respect, and sensitivity.
Civil Celebrant
Nicky is a qualified and experienced civil celebrant and celebrant trainer. She has led hundreds of funeral ceremonies in crematoriums, natural burial grounds, graveyards, village halls, pub function rooms, clients’ homes, gardens — and even in a stretch tent in a rain-soaked field. She believes it’s important for people to know that funerals aren’t limited to crematoriums or churches.
Nicky has worked closely with Wells Funeral Services since 2016, ensuring that each family receives the farewell that best reflects their wishes. She believes a good funeral ceremony should be as unique as the person who has died, painting a picture of their life and speaking to the heart, the head, and the senses.
Professional, empathetic and patient, Nicky considers it a privilege to help families create a fitting tribute and meaningful goodbye.
